Seattle Sounders FC News Release

SEATTLE, WASH. - After advancing past F.C. Motagua with a 5-0 aggregate scoreline in the 2022 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League Round of 16, Seattle Sounders FC faces Liga MX side Club León in the Quarterfinals. The first leg is being played tonight at Lumen Field (7:00 p.m. PT / FS1, TUDN, iHeart Media, El Rey 1360 AM), with a second leg taking place at Estadio León on Thursday, March 17 at 5:30 p.m. PT.

The Rave Green are looking to make history, as no MLS team has ever won a Concacaf Champions League title. By making it to the Quarterfinals, Seattle has already bested its last effort in the tournament, a Round of 16 exit to CD Olimpia via penalty kicks in 2020.

This marks the seventh appearance for Seattle in the tournament, which crowns the best team from North America, Central America and the Caribbean. Sounders FC has advanced to at least the Quarterfinals in four of its previous six appearances, including a run to the Semifinals in 2012-2013.

Following Tuesday's matchup, the Rave Green return to their MLS campaign, hosting the LA Galaxy on Saturday, March 12 (12:30 pm. PT / FOX, 1090 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).
