The FC Cincinnati Academy is back in full swing, resuming competition with the U15 and U17 squads taking on League Pro Player Pathway competition down in Houston. The U13, U14 and U19 teams hosted games at Mercy Health Training Center to begin a busy spring for the Young Garys.

In the first game competition of 2022, here's how the FC Cincinnati Academy fared:

Saturday, March 5

U13 | FC Cincinnati Academy 0, Indiana Fire Academy 1

A hard-fought matchup on a spring-like day in Milford saw the Orange and Blue fall, 1-0.

U14 | FC Cincinnati Academy 0, Indiana Fire Academy 6

FCC Academy's U14s were unable to get much going in a 6-0 loss.

U19 | FC Cincinnati 3, Michigan Wolves 2

A scrappy win for the Orange and Blue saw Josh Head score for FCC In the opening minutes of the game. Gerardo Valenzuela scored from the penalty spot early in the second half, and a later goal from Daniel Samways secured the win.

The Orange and Blue, which played down a man for part of the match, saw strong play in goal from Paul Walters who saved a penalty kick.

Sunday, March 6

U13 | FC Cincinnati Academy 3, Bavarian United SC 0

The U13 squad bounced back from Saturday's loss with a shutout victory. Merrick Joska scored a brace, and assisted Harlan Smith's goal to lead to the 3-0 win.

U14 | FC Cincinnati Academy 1, Bavarian United SC 3

Will Kuisel's impressive free kick goal put the Orange and Blue on the scoresheet, but the Young Garys fell to visiting Bavarian United.

U15 | Houston Dynamo FC Academy 2, FC Cincinnati Academy 0

Down in scorching Houston, Cooper Wiseman in goal and Kasole Williams on the backline stood out with strong performances, but the Orange and Blue fell to the Dynamo.

U17 | Houston Dynamo FC Academy 0, FC Cincinnati Academy 2

Isaac Calderon and Jio Gabriel Mora each scored as the visitors took the win in the Lonestar State. In hot and windy conditions, Zack Kacic secured a clean sheet with a strong performance in goal.

UP NEXT:

The Young Garys return to the field Wednesday, March 9 to begin a busy week of action across three separate days. The U17 and U19 begin the busy week at Indiana Fire Academy, followed by five matches on Saturday and Sunday.

The U15 and U17 squads continue action against regional rivals in the Columbus Crew Academy. The U13 and U14 squads host action at Mercy Health Training Center and the U19 team heads north to Grand Rapids, Michigan on Sunday.
