
Sounders FC Goalkeeper Andrew Thomas Undergoes Successful Surgery

SEATTLE, WASH. - Sounders FC today announced that goalkeeper Andrew Thomas underwent a successful minimally-invasive back surgery, performed by Dr. Rajiv Sethi on Thursday, September 22 in Seattle. Thomas, who began rehabilitation immediately following the procedure, has been out for over a month due to a lower back stress fracture.
Thomas, 23, joined Sounders FC in May of 2021 following a standout collegiate career at Stanford, where he was a three-time All-Pac-12 First Team selection. The Moscow-born, Watford FC Academy product has appeared in 19 games for Tacoma Defiance over the past two seasons, including 12 this season in MLS NEXT Pro action.
