SACRAMENTO, CALIF. - A Jordan Morris brace led the way as Sounders FC wrapped its 2018 preseason presented by adidas Thursday evening with a 3-1 win over Sacramento Republic FC at Papa Murphy's Park. Henry Wingo also scored as Seattle finished its preseason action with a 5-2-0 record, including a pair of matches on Thursday. Earlier in the day, the Rave Green fell 1-0 to Reno 1868 FC after fielding a separate lineup from the one that took the field against Republic FC.

Morris put Seattle up early, knocking in a shot from close range in the second minute. After a SRFC foul outside the 18-yard-box, Nicolás Lodeiro sent a free kick from the right side to the far post, which was mis-cleared by a defender before falling to the feet of Morris. The striker calmly converted the point-blank attempt for his third goal of the preseason.

Wingo made it 2-0 in the 27th minute, again from service by Lodeiro. The Uruguayan playmaker sent a pinpoint cross from the left side through the Republic FC defense that found Wingo at the far post, and the second-year Homegrown Player smashed a volley into the back of the net.

Sacramento Republic FC pulled one back early in the second half on a close-range shot from Christian Eissele, but Morris made it 3-1 in the 79th minute to complete his brace. The Stanford product played a give-and-go with Seyi Adekoya to set up a first-time blast into the top corner, giving the SRFC goalkeeper no chance at a save.

Prior to this evening's match at Sacramento Republic FC, the Rave Green faced Reno 1868 FC in a closed-door scrimmage Thursday morning at UC Davis' Aggie Soccer Field. With Schmetzer fielding a split-squad of first team and developmental players, Sounders FC fell 1-0 for its second loss of the 2018 preseason presented by adidas.

With preseason action now completed, Sounders FC gears up for its Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League matchup with Salvadoran side Santa Tecla FC. The Rave Green travel to El Salvador for the first leg next Thursday, February 22 before hosting the second leg on March 1 on the Xbox Pitch at CenturyLink Field. Sounders FC's 10th MLS campaign begins at home on Sunday, March 4 against expansion side Los Angeles FC.
