Seattle Sounders FC News Release

SEATTLE, WASH. - Sounders FC clinched its league-record 11th consecutive postseason berth on Wednesday evening, as Portland's draw with New England and San Jose's loss to Philadelphia secured the Rave Green a spot in the 2019 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs. Sounders FC currently sits in fourth position in the Western Conference with 50 points (14-10-8), one point behind third-place LA Galaxy and two points shy of second-place Minnesota United FC with two matches remaining in the regular season. Seattle returns to action this Sunday, September 29 with a road match at San Jose (4:30 p.m. PT / JOEtv, YouTube TV, Univision-Seattle, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).

Having qualified for the postseason every season since entering the league in 2009, Seattle's streak of 11 consecutive postseason appearance surpasses the previous record of 10 set by the LA Galaxy from 1996-2005 and the New York Red Bulls' current run since 2010. After the club's draw vs. FC Dallas on September 18, Seattle hit the 50-point mark for the third consecutive season, and eighth of the past nine.

2019 Season Members will receive information directly from the club regarding their playoff seats this week, while single-match tickets will go on sale if a home playoff match date and time is secured. Single-match tickets for Seattle's Decision Day clash with Minnesota on October 6 can be found via the following link: https://sndrs.com/a2nev.
