April 14, 2022 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Seattle Sounders FC News Release
SEATTLE, WASH. - Seattle Sounders FC today announced that Lumen Field's lower bowl inventory has officially sold out for the club's 2022 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League Final match vs. Pumas UNAM, being played on Wednesday, May 4 in a 7:00 p.m. PT kickoff. Inventory in the upper bowl remains, but fans wishing to attend are urged to act quickly to secure their tickets in order to ensure they are able to be a part of the historic day. Tickets are available exclusively online through SoundersFC.com.
"We are on the doorstep of a watershed moment for our club and Major League Soccer, as the Sounders look to become the first MLS team to win Concacaf Champions League," said Sounders FC Owner & President of Business Operations Peter Tomozawa. "Our home leg of the Champions League Final is one of the most significant matches in team history, and it's clear that our fans feel the enormity of the moment, as our lower bowl inventory sold out within an hour of being open to the general public. Our players thrive on the homefield advantage that our passionate fan base creates at Lumen Field, and we want to generate the strongest possible atmosphere as we take on a quality Pumas side on May 4. With the chance to hoist a trophy - one of the only trophies missing from our club's collection and a rare continental title - this is honestly a historic opportunity. We encourage everyone to act quickly to secure remaining tickets in the upper bowl before they're gone. Let's make history together!"
Sounders FC Season Ticket Members were able to take advantage of a special pre-sale event earlier today to secure their tickets for the Final, with the public on-sale opening at 3:00 p.m. PT. While lower bowl inventory has sold out, tickets in the upper bowl are still available.
Last night, Sounders FC advanced to the SCCL Final for the first time in club history following a 4-2 aggregate victory over New York City FC in the Semifinal round. The Rave Green now move on to battle Liga MX powerhouse Pumas UNAM for a chance to be the first MLS team to hoist the SCCL trophy, with Seattle being only the fifth MLS side to ever reach the continental championship.
The first leg of play sees Sounders FC on the road, taking on the Mexico City-based Pumas at Estadio Olímpico Universitario on Wednesday, April 27 at 7:30 p.m. PT. The second leg of play comes back to Seattle, giving Sounders FC the rare opportunity to hoist the tournament trophy in front of a home crowd in a match at Lumen Field on Wednesday, May 4 at 7:00 p.m. PT.
In addition to adding another trophy to the team's collection, the winner of the tournament goes on to represent the region as the top club side from North America, Central America and the Caribbean at the 2022 FIFA Club World Cup.
