
With More Than 25,000 Tickets Sold, Chicago Fire FC Encourages Fans to Arrive Early to Saturday's Home Match Versus LA Galaxy

CHICAGO - Ahead of Chicago Fire FC's home match against the LA Galaxy on Saturday, April 16, the Fire is encouraging fans to arrive early to Soldier Field. With three of the most prominent players in the league expected to feature in the match - Chicago's Xherdan Shaqiri and LA's Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez and Douglas Costa - traffic patterns will be impacted as more than 25,000 tickets have already been sold for the encounter along the lakefront.
Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. CT and tickets to attend the match are available for purchase. Fans are encouraged to use public transportation, including CTA, Metra or ride share services. Tuk Tuk shuttle service from public transportation points will begin at 5:00 p.m. CT.
Fire fans who drive to the match are encouraged to arrive by 6:00 p.m. CT. Parking for all Soldier Field lots may also be purchased in advance via the Chicago Fire Account Manager. Fans who purchase parking in advance will receive a $5 discount. Season Ticket Holders maybe access discounted parking via the Season Ticket Holder HQ page.
Saturday's crowd will mark the second-largest since 2004, trailing only the final home match of the 2021 season when 31,308 fans cheered the Fire to a 1-0 win against Real Salt Lake at Soldier Field on Oct. 23. It will also mark the second milestone crowd for the Fire in the first seven games of the season. Chicago previously opened the 2022 campaign in front of 25,477 fans at Soldier Field on March 5, which was the second-largest attendance for a home opener in Club history.
PARKING: Parking lots will open for fans at 4:00 p.m. CT, allowing ample time for tailgating at the Waldron Deck and South Lot. Fans can pre-purchase parking using their Chicago Fire Account manager and receive a $5 discount. PREGAME FESTIVITIES: Burnham Downs, a pre-match tailgate hosted by the Club, will also open at 4:00 p.m. CT and will be highlighted by @_pennypinch_'s creation of a one-of-a-kind mural in collaboration with Chicago Math and Science Academy. Additionally, Café Tola will serve empanadas and Hazy Pitch and Heineken will be available for fans in attendance. Burnham Downs is located on the southwest side of Soldier Field and is free for fans to attend. For more information, click here.
GATES OPEN: Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. CT, an hour and a half prior to the 7:00 p.m. CT kickoff time.
GAMEDAY SUGGESTIONS: Fans should plan for extra time in transportation to the stadium and arrive at Soldier Field by 6:00 p.m. CT. One clear bag per ticketed fan is allowed and must be no larger than 12 x 6 x 12 and small clutch bags no larger than 4.5 x 6.5.
