Sound Tigers Sign Langkow to PTO

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Oct. 3, 2011) - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced today that they have signed forward Chris Langkow to a professional tryout contract (PTO).

Langkow, 22, appeared in 64 regular season games between the ECHL's Alaska Aces and the AHL's Peoria Rivermen during his first pro season 2010-11. The Vegreville, AB native recorded 15 goals and 21 assists in 56 regular season games with Alaska as well as eight goals and three assists in 13 postseason games en route to the Aces' Kelly Cup Championship. The 6'1", 185-pound forward also netted a goal and two assists in eight games with Peoria.

Langkow began his pro career last season after a five-season stint in the Western Hockey league where he split time between the Spokane Chiefs, Saskatoon Blades and Everett Silvertips. In 184 WHL games, Langkow notched 53 goals and 101 assists.
