BRIDGEPORT, CT - The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, beat the Hershey Bears 3-2 in overtime at home Saturday night.
Hershey appeared to have taken a 1-0 lead 1:55 into the first period, but Yevgeny Lazarev's goal was waived off by referee Guy Pellerin because the whistle had blown.
