Lancaster, Pennsylvania - The Somerset Patriots (36-23) earned a series win over the Lancaster Barnstormers (20-38) with a 3-0 shutout win at Clipper Magazine Stadium Thursday night.

The Patriots got on the board in the top of the first inning. Ramon Flores led off the frame with a base hit, advanced to second on a Rey Navarro single, reached third on a double play groundout and scored on a run-scoring wild pitch.

Somerset starting pitcher David Holmberg (W, 1-2) worked out of jams in the first three innings of the night to keep the Patriots in front. Alfredo Rodriguez later added a two-out RBI single in the 5th to double Somerset's lead to 2-0.

Holmberg wound up going seven shutout innings, scattering four hits and two walks with four strikeouts.

Will Kengor (4) added an insurance run in the top of the ninth inning with a solo home run out to right-center field. That proved to be more than enough for Somerset, with Mike Antonini (S, 23) tossing a scoreless bottom of the ninth to lock down the 3-0 win.

John Anderson (L, 5-4) suffered the loss after allowing two runs (one earned) over six innings.

The Patriots win, combined with the Long Island Ducks loss to the New Britain Bees has pushed Somerset back into a tie for first place in the Liberty Division with 11 games remaining in the first half.

The 2019 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue on the road until Friday, June 28th when the team returns to TD Bank Ballpark for a 7:05 pm game against the Long Island Ducks.
