High Point, North Carolina - The Somerset Patriots (41-27) earned a 3-0 shutout win over the High Point Rockers (40-29) in their first ever game at BB&T Point Friday night.
The game was scoreless over the first four innings before Somerset broke through in the fifth. Michael Crouse lined a one-out double to deep left field before Yovan Gonzalez brought him home with an RBI single.
The Patriots added two more runs in the top of the sixth inning on back-to-back two-out, RBI singles from Michael Ohlman and Alfredo Rodriguez.
High Point loaded the bases with no outs in the the next half inning against Somerset starter Brett Oberholtzer (W, 6-1), but relief pitcher Jonathan Cheshire entered and stranded all three inherited runners to keep the Rockers off the board.
