Somerset Patriots sign lefty Henri Stanley

Bridgewater, NJ - The Three-Time Atlantic League Champion Somerset Patriots have announced the signing of outfielder Henri Stanley.

Stanley comes to the Somerset Patriots after spending the last year and a half with the Los Angeles Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate in Las Vegas.

Stanley is a career .287 hitter with 637 hits, 142 doubles, 44 triples, 68 home runs, and 303 RBI in 626 minor league games. He has three seasons of Triple-A experience with the Houston Astros, San Diego Padres, Boston Red Sox, and the Dodgers organizations.

Stanley was a Double-A All Star selection in 2002 while playing for the Round Rock Express of the Texas League. He had his best season that year, hitting .314 with 16 home runs and 72 RBI.

Stanley has also been among league leaders in triples during four of his professional seasons.

"We are looking for Henri to add a little speed and run production to our line-up. We've been struggling to find a catalyst in our offense so far, and we feel that Henri may be one of the pieces we've been missing," said Sparky Lyle, Manager of the Somerset Patriots Baseball Club.

The 2006 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue at home on Thursday evening with a 7:05 pm game against the Camden Riversharks. The game will feature a School's Out For Summer Fireworks Show presented by Audi of America.
