Florida Everblades News Release
ORLANDO, FL - Brady Vail scored twice to lift the Orlando Solar Bears to a 4-3 victory over the Florida Everblades in Game 4 of the East Division Semifinals at the Amway Center Thursday evening. With the win, Orlando ties the series at 2-2.
For the third consecutive game in the series, Orlando grabbed the game's first goal. While on the power play, Bryce Aneloski delivered a shot from the right wing boards which was tipped and redirected into the net for the goal.
Florida evened the score at 16:17 of the first when Mike Little curled a shot from the slot past goaltender Garret Sparks.
The Everblades grabbed the lead in the second period when Mike Cornell directed a pass to the backside of the crease which was hammered home by Nicholas Deschamps behind Sparks for the tally.
The Solar Bears gained momentum with 46 seconds remaining in the middle frame when Brett Findlay circled the net and swung to the slot and wristed a puck past Florida net minder Allen York.
Brady Vail scored the net two goals of the game in the third period. The first was a shorthanded tally just 1:40 into the period. Ben Johnson picked up a turnover in the corner and fed pass to Vail at the bottom of the slot. Vail flexed the puck into the net for the goal.
Vail scored again seven minutes later when he finished off a rebound from a Johnny McInnis shot that clipped behind York to extend the Orlando lead to 4-2.
The Everblades pulled within one at 10:17 when Jesse Graham sailed a shot from the point that ripped into the back of the net to get Florida back in the game.
Despite a barrage of shots and two power play chances down the stretch, Sparks and Orlando held on for the 4-3 victory.
The two teams will meet again on Saturday for Game 5 at the Amway Center. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
Tickets for Monday's Game 6 at Germain Arena will go on sale on Friday at 10:00 a.m.
