
Solar Bears Bitten by Swamp Rabbits in 6-2 Loss

GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Orlando Solar Bears (12-7-2-0) fell to the Greenville Swamp Rabbits (10-8-2-0) by a 6-2 score on Thursday night at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena.
Orlando opened the scoring when Taylor Doherty wound up his stick and let a shot fly past Mackenzie Skapski at 3:51 of the first period.
Greenville found the equalizer when Spiro Goulakos capitalized on a Solar Bears turnover and wristed a shot past Ryan Massa at 5:42.
The Swamp Rabbits then pulled ahead in the second period when Desmond Bergin slid a puck past the pads of Massa at 9:21.
Greenville padded its lead in the third period as Bergin made his way down the right wall and then cut towards the goal, before firing a shot through the pads of Massa at 8:34.
Shortly thereafter, Bretton Cameron one-timed a feed from the corner over the glove of Massa at 8:51.
Brett Findlay pulled Orlando back to within two with a power-play goal from the right circle, but Tommy Thompson then scored on a breakaway at 16:04 and Angelo Miceli sealed the game with a power-play tally at 18:31.
Massa took the loss with 28 saves on 34 shots against; Skapski earned the victory with 26 stops on 28 shots against.
