ALLEN, Texas (December 7, 2016) - The Missouri Mavericks have played four consecutive one-goal games (1-1-2) heading into tonight's showdown with the Allen Americans. Allen is the only team to beat the Mavericks in regulation during that stretch so the Mavericks are looking for a measure of revenge in their first trip to Allen since opening weekend.

CHECKING THE RIVALRY

The Mavericks are facing the Americans tonight for the fifth of 13 meetings this season, and the third of seven at Allen Event Center. The Mavericks are 1-3-0 against the Americans this season after a 1-0 setback at home on November 30. The Mavericks last visited Allen on opening weekend (Oct. 15 and 16) and dropped two games by scores of 6-3 and 4-0, respectively. The Mavericks enter play tonight trailing Allen by three points for fourth in the Mountain Division with three games in hand. After tonight the Mavericks will only see the Americans twice between now and the end of February (Jan. 15 & 16 in Allen) before the teams face off six times in the month of March. Four of those games will be home contests for the Mavericks.

ONE-TIMER * With rookie Tommy Vannelli added to the mix, the Mavericks defensive corps features five rookies, two third-year pros and one fourth-year pro. Vannelli will become the 11th defenseman to play for the Mavericks when he makes his debut. They dressed 18 over the course of the 15-16 season.
