Charlotte Independence News Release
Charlotte, N.C. - Queen City Soccer Club announced today that SoccerPulse has signed on as a Proud Partner of the Charlotte Independence. Elements include branding and social media. In addition, the Team will be using the SoccerPulse app for the 2018 season.
SoccerPulse was created by Matt Danaher in 2017. After a career that included playing in the USSF Development Academy, NCAA Division I, Premier Development League, and abroad for Salthill Devon in Ireland and FCA Darmstadt in Germany, Matt wanted to create an app that would make it easy for coaches to monitor their players' readiness and training loads.
As the Director of Player Development for a youth club in Connecticut, he spent long hours manually inputting data into a spreadsheet that recorded how players were feeling, how many minutes they had trained, and any injuries that they had sustained. He knew there must be an easier way to track this information and make it available to coaches when planning their weekly training sessions.
From that idea, SoccerPulse was born. The app makes it easy for coaches to plan their periodization based on the feedback from the players, and see how intense a training session or a game was. Coaches can also give the players feedback on their training performance, making it easy to know which players are in the best form.
The Charlotte Independence will be using SoccerPulse during the 2018 USL season, with Matt serving as a Sports Scientist intern under Independence Strength & Conditioning Coach Dan Barlow.
"I'm delighted to be able to work with Mike, Troy, Joel, Dan, Tara, and the entire Independence team this season", said Matt Danaher, SoccerPulse founder. "Using SoccerPulse with a high-level club like Charlotte helps me to make improvements to the app based on feedback from the coaches and players. It's my hope that SoccerPulse will assist in keeping our players injury free and lead to a successful season in 2018."
"The app is excellent and provides valuable information to the coaching staff", said Mike Jeffries, Head Coach of the Independence. " We are excited about the partnership and have started using it with the players."
