Snyder's Shot Gives RedHawks 4-3 Win

Oklahoma City, Okla. - Brad Snyder hit a walk-off home run to lead off the bottom of the ninth inning, giving the Oklahoma City RedHawks (21-17) a 4-3 win over the Tucson Padres (12-26) before 3,128 Monday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Facing a full count against Jason Ray (0-1), Snyder sent a ball about 10 feet up the grass berm in center field for his third home run of the season, as well as the first walk-off home run of the year for the RedHawks. Snyder also made a diving catch on a fly ball to shallow center field hit by Sawyer Carroll to leadoff the top of the ninth.

The walk-off shot ended up being the first time the RedHawks gained the lead. Each team scored a run in the first inning, with Brett Wallace providing a two-out RBI single to tie the game.

Oklahoma City's Dallas Keuchel and Tucson's Jorge Reyes were locked into a pitcher's duel and kept the game at 1-1 until the eighth inning. Logan Forsythe put the Padres in front with an RBI single, knocking Keuchel out of the game.

Two batters later, Juan Abreu walked Yasmani Grandal with the bases loaded to extend Tucson's lead to 3-1.

J.B. Shuck led off the bottom of the eighth with a soft liner to short, but Everth Cabrera dropped it, allowing Shuck to reach safely.

The error proved very costly, as Jimmy Paredes stepped up next and hammered a game-tying home run into the RedHawks bullpen to tie the game.

The homer meant neither starting pitcher would factor into the decision. Keuchel went 7.1 innings, allowing three runs on six hits with one walk and five strikeouts. At one point he retired 14 consecutive and 18 of 19 batters.

Reyes was lifted for a pinch hitter in the eighth, ending his night after he surrendered just one run and five hits over seven innings. He struck out five and walked two.

Adalberto Flores (2-0) earned the win after retiring all four batters he faced. The win was the RedHawks' fourth straight, each of which coming by one run.
