Colorado Springs Sky Sox News Release

IT'S A RECORD!: It was discovered today by Sky Sox team historian Chris Moyer that the Colorado Springs Sky Sox broke a 60 year-old PCL record by recording at least one hit in 20 consecutive innings earlier this season. The streak started with hits in each of the final two innings of the Sox game at Sacramento on 5/3 and continued through the next two, nine-inning games versus Fresno on 5/4 and 5/5 (18 total innings as the Sox lost both games and batted in the 9th each time). The streak was broken in the first inning of the following game against Fresno as the Sox put three men on base via walks but did not record a base hit. During the streak, the Sox knocked out 35 hits. The previous record according to the PCL Record Book was set by the Hollywood Stars in 1952 when they recorded a hit in 19 straight innings against the San Francisco Seals from 8/14-8/16/52.
