
Sneed Sets Franchise Record in Win over Vegas

SAN JOSE, Calif - Dalton Sneed set a franchise record with seven touchdown passes as the Bay Area Panthers grabbed a share of first place in the Western Conference with a 62-44 win over the Vegas Knight Hawks.
The Panthers (4-2) also established a team record for points in a game eclipsing the previous best of 54 set the previous week in San Diego.
Bay Area never trailed and took the lead for good in the first lead when Sneed connected with Cutrell Haywood on 15-yard scoring strike with 12:19 to play in the first quarter.
Vegas (2-4) was stopped on its first possession when Trae Meadows broke up a pass intended for Frank Brown on 4th and 8 from midfield. It became a two score game when Justin Rankin scored on an option pitch from Sneed from one-yard out.
The Knight Hawks got on the board when Daquan Neal connected with Caleb Holley from eight yards out to make it a one score game.
Bay Area responded on the first play of the second quarter when Sneed threw a 15-yard scoring pass to JT Stokes make it 22-6.
The decisive stretch occurred in the second quarter after the Knight Hawks were stopped on 4th down with Marquise Bridges turning back Frank Brown at the Bay Area 1 yard line with 30 seconds left. Two plays later, Sneed hooked up with Nih Jackson from 39 yards out for a 42-18 lead at halftime.
The Panthers next play at Northern Arizona on Saturday while the Knight Hawks will be home to face Arizona.
