For the first time this season the Calgary Vipers lost four consecutive games as they were defeated 7-6 by the Tucson Toros before 4632 fans at Hi Corbett Field in Tucson, Arizona. In a back and forth game that saw the Vipers hold two separate leads the Toros would walk off with the victory in the bottom of the ninth inning. With the loss Calgary's overall record is 37-20 which leads the Golden Baseball League. The Snakes are now 11-7 in the second half which is a half game ahead of the second place Edmonton Capitals.

Calgary now returns home to Foothills Stadium on Tuesday August 4th at 7:05 PM MDT, Wednesday August 5th at 5:05 PM MDT for a double-header and Thursday August 6th at 7:05 PM MDT against the Tucson Toros for a four-games-in-three-days series. On Thursday it will be the final Dog Days of Summer with dog toys handed out at the front gate while it will also be Grey Eagle Casino night at the park with even more free giveaways.

On Friday August 7th at 7:00 PM MDT the Vipers are hosting their 1st annual Coaches Clinic. If you are a baseball coach this is your chance to be instructed by former major league players; Morgan Burkhart, Boots Day, and Vipers pitching coach Evan Greusel. It's a chance of a lifetime to learn some tricks and trades of the game from those who know it best. Interested coaches can sign up at www.calgaryvipers.com.

On Saturday August 8th and Sunday August 9th at 10:00 AM MDT the Vipers are holding their 1st annual kids camp at Foothills Stadium for ages 9-16. Vipers' players will be on the field to demonstrate and teach hitting, throwing, and fielding techniques. Interested kids can sign up at www.calgaryvipers.com.
