Edmonton, AB - The Edmonton Capitals (34-27) dropped the first game of a three game home stand against the Tucson Toros (25-24) by a score of 5-2. Chris Little (5-2) took the loss pitching 6 2/3, letting in four runs, and striking out one Toro. The Capitals could only muscle seven hits and two runs against Toro pitching.

Jason Jacome (3-2) got the win for the Toros, pitching seven innings of one run baseball. The Toros jumped out to an early three run lead in the top of the third and added single runs in fifth and eighth inning. Tucson leadoff hitter Skip Adams led the way, going three for five with two runs scored. The game was a late start by over an hour, as Tucson delayed in getting to the ball park due to travel holdups.

Join the Edmonton Capitals through the evening as the team attempts to break the World Record Number of Pitches Thrown before a Game in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. The current record sits at 11 689 and will take over 20 hours to break. Fans are invited down to the field to help throw pitches for a $5 donation to the CBCF. Saturday is also the Edmonton Capital's First Annual Power of Pink game. Partial proceeds of Saturday night's ticket sales will go to the CBCF, the team will be wearing special pink EC hats and playing with pink bats. All hats and bats will be auctioned off after the game with proceeds going to the CBCF.
