Medicine Hat, AB - The Medicine Hat Tigers are proud to announce the commitment of Kurtis Smythe (Cloverdale, BC) has committed to the Mount Royal University Cougars for the upcoming USports season.
Smythe, 21, played 57 games as a Tiger and 178 Western Hockey League season, scoring 4 goals & 44 assists for 48 points.
Kurtis spent time with the Portland Winterhawks in 121 games before coming to the Tigers in an early season trade in the 2022-2023 season.
The Cougars are coming off a 19-5-4 record the Canada West Division in 2022-2023.
The Tigers would like to congratulate Kurtis & his family on continuing his hockey career while pursuing academic opportunities through the WHL Scholarship & Development program.
