
Smokies Ride the Long Ball to Comeback

Sevierville, Tenn. - The Tennessee Smokies (3-0) used a three run third inning to come back from a two run deficit and received home runs from Dan Haren and Caonabo Cosme to hold off Mobile (0-3) 5-3 Saturday night at Smokies Park.
BayBears starter Cory Stewart (L, 0-1) struck out ten over four innings but was picked apart on five Smokies singles in the third. Haren (W, 1-0) led off the fourth with a solo homer off Stewart, while working five innings for the win.
The Smokies bullpen was perfect over the final four innings and Juan Figueroa (1) worked a perfect ninth inning to pick up the save.
The Smokies had eleven hits but struck out sixteen times. Stewart fanned the side in the first, and second en route to ten while reliever Alan Webb struck out the side in the fifth and sixth.
The Smokies aim for the series sweep Sunday afternoon at five with Jeremy Cummings on the mound opposite Chris Rojas.
