Tri-City Dust Devils News Release
The Tri-City Dust Devils (19-35) came away with the 3-2 win over the Hillsboro Hops in the opening matchup of the six-game road series on Tuesday night at Gesa Stadium. Tri-City starter Ryan Smith earned the win after allowing only four hits and two runs in seven innings of work.
Only one reliever was needed in the win. Kolton Ingram tossed two scoreless innings out of the bullpen to pick up his first save since joining Tri-City. Francisco Del Valle stayed hot at the plate for the Dust Devils. For the third straight game Del Valle had a pair of hits. Livan Soto also added a solo home run, his fifth blast of the season, in the victory.
Coming up in the second matchup of the series on Wednesday the Dust Devils will send left-hander Hector Yan to the mound. Yan was named to the American League roster for the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game, which will be played next Sunday, July 11, in Colorado. Yan becomes the first active Dust Devils player to ever be selected for the Futures Team. Hillsboro will counter with right-hander Blake Walston.
