
Smart, McGuire and Szarzynski invited to training camp

Montreal, Jan. 24, 2006 - The Montreal Alouettes' Vice President and General Manager, Jim Popp, has announced the signings of running back Ian Smart, defensive tackle Ja'Dae McGuire and linebacker Bart Szarzynski, who will all be invited to training camp this spring.
Ian Smart (5'8'', 192 lbs.) was on the NFL Tampa Bay Buccaneers' practice roster in 2005. A running back, he took part in four games with the Bucs in 2004 after starting the year in NFL Europe with the Scottish Claymores, where he gained 201 yards on 41 carries. He attended training camp with the NFL New York Jets in 2003. He is 25.
Ja'Dae McGuire (6'6'', 275 lbs.) is a defensive tackle who played the 2005 season with the Arena Football League 2 Louisville Fire. The 2003 West Virginia Tech Defensive Player of the Year at attended training camp with the Green Bay Packers of the NFL in 2004. He is 26.
A native of Surrey, B.C., linebacker Bart Szarzynski (6'3'', 230 lbs.) made 28 tackles and forced two fumbles with the St. Mary's Huskies in 2005 on his way to being named a conference All-Star. He is 22.
