SLC Stars to Honor the Local West Valley City Community with WVC Inspired Uniforms

SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars, the NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, announced today that the team will pay homage to the local West Valley City (WVC) community, home of the Maverik Center, during their game on Saturday, Dec. 16. The team will wear WVC inspired uniforms as they face off against G League Ignite at 7 p.m. MT. All player jerseys will be available for auction online at slcstars.com and on instagram @slcstars immediately following the game.
The Stars moved to West Valley City in 2022 after playing in the neighboring city of Taylorsville, Utah. The game on Dec. 16 will honor local West Valley City heroes and boast all that the Salt Lake City suburb has to offer.
As the Stars embrace their West Valley identity, the uniform draws inspiration from the city's flag. The 'WV' pattern is woven throughout the design, incorporating typography and theme elements from various local sites.
"West Valley City is home to so many thriving businesses, families, and first responders and we are proud to showcase this," said Salt Lake City Stars President Jonathan Rinehart. "It is a privilege to honor the local heroes that serve the community of our Maverik Center home on a daily basis. The uniforms call attention to the local support, thanking all of the Stars' fans in West Valley."
This week, the Stars' mascot Buster visited West Valley Fire Stations 73 and 75 to personally invite the city's first responders to Saturday's game.
