Iowa Wolves News Release

DES MOINES, Iowa - The Iowa Wolves outlasted the Cleveland Charge, 118-115, on Thursday night at Wells Fargo Arena in a game that featured 16 lead changes.

Iowa (4-9) was led by two-way Luka Garza who scored 35 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and blocked three shots. Fellow two-way Daishen Nix scored

22 points and dished out 10 assists.

Sharife Cooper scored 31 points and handed out 10 assists for Cleveland (5-8). Pete Nance finished with 29 points and two-way Emoni Bates

had 15 points before fouling out.

The tightly contested game came down to the last possession. Lance's layup gave Cleveland its final lead with 30.6 seconds in the game before

Garza quickly tied it with a pair of free throws.

On the next possession, Iowa's defense forced a turnover as Dix grabbed the steal and was fouled. Nix calmy made both free throws that looked

like would be the clencher. However, Lance buried a 26-footer off an assist from Cooper that pulled Cleveland back to within one point.

Out of timeouts, the Charge fouled Javonte Cooke on the inbounds pass. Cooke, who made his third start and finished 18 points, made both

free throws. Cooper's heave at the buzzer was no good as Iowa won its second home game of the season.

Trevor Keels stuffed the stat sheet with 21 points, 11 rebounds, six assists and two steals. Tyrese Martin made his first start of the year

and had 18 points.

The teams play again Friday night at Wells Fargo Arena with tipoff at 7 p.m. CT.
