Slammers Walk off Saturday vs Florence

Joliet, IL - The Joliet Slammers presented by ATI Physical Therapy beat the Florence Freedom 8-7 Saturday night in walk off fashion.

It was a big first inning starting with Florence scoring five runs highlighted by a Skyler Ewing three run home run. Joliet quickly responded with three runs in the bottom of the inning with Trenton Hill and Justin Garcia each hitting RBI singles and Ridge Hoopii-Haslam getting hit by a pitch bringing home a runner making it 5-3.

The Slammers then put up three more in the bottom of the second inning with Danny Zardon and Justin Garcia hitting RBI singles and Ridge Hoopii-Haslam hitting an RBI double making it 6-5 Joliet.

Jacob Wark hit a home run and Xavier Turner hit an RBI single making it 7-6 Florence in the top of the fourth inning.

Travis Bolin hit a walk off RBI single in the bottom of the 9th to win it for the Slammers by a final of 8-7.

Tonight's Merchants and Manufacturers Player of the Game is Travis Bolin who had the walk off hit for the Slammers.

Joliet remains in first place at 34-25 in the Frontier League East Division.
