Alabama Slammers News Release
Orlando â The Orlando Seals hammered 45 shots on Alabama goaltender Fred Beaubien but still could not catch the Slammers who ran away with a 4-1 decision Thursday night at the TD Waterhouse Centre.
The Seals only goal came on a chip shot by B.J. Stephens from his knees in the second period. Stephens' goal, his sixteenth of the season from Jason Elders at 14:53, brought the Seals within one at 2-1 but the Slammers would never look back.
Alabama got a spectacular performance out of Ryan Prentice, who had 3 goals, 1 assist on the night. The Slammers also got a goal from Wade Paterson for the 4-1 decision.
The Slammers return home to take on the Miami Manatees this Friday and Saturday night at the Pelham Civic Complex. Friday night is "Faith Night" as Christian Recording Artists Brother's Keeper will perform a free post game concert for hockey fans attending the game. Tickets start as low as $12 for the concert and game and can be purchased at all Ticketmaster locations, or by calling 715-6000 or online at ticketmaster.com. Groups of ten or more can order their tickets through the Slammers office by calling 328-7825.
