Joliet Slammers News Release

Joliet, IL - The Slammers looked to secure a win tonight for the Re-reopening of DuPage Medical Group Field, but were stymied by Boomers starter Kyle Arjona. Lefty Tyler Jandron took to the mound to open up the three game series against Schaumburg.

After a big second inning for Schaumburg the tally was at 5-0. A double by Matt McGarry drove in Nick Ames, Clint Hardy, and Alec Craig for the first three runs. A single by Chase Dawson put another run on the board bringing home Matt McGarry from second base. Another single by Quincy Nieporte scored Chase Dawson from second base.

In the top of the seventh inning, Jandron was relieved by right hander Chris Roycroft. Jandron would face a total of 28 batters and toss 6 strikeouts while on the mound.

The Slammers were held to only two hits, one being a double by Alonzo Jones right off the bat in the first inning. The second hit for Joliet wouldn't come until the bottom of the ninth inning with a double from Dylan Hardy. The Boomers' Kyle Arjona was a menace on the mound keeping the Slammers to zero runs scored.
