Minot Skyrockets News Release

San Jose, CA. Having played 25 of 36 regular season games to date, one of the first goals for the San Jose Skyrockets (20-5) was to reach 20 wins. They did just that with a very impressive second half and a 124-76 win over the Tacoma Navigators (10-6) at the San Jose Civic Auditorium.

Tacoma jumped out to a 12-4 lead. It was tied at 22 with 2:10 to go before the Skyrockets led 29-26 at the end of the period. The Navigators continued its hot-shooting in the second period hitting 3's from everywhere to trail by only 54-47 at the half.

The second half was a different story. San Jose jumped out to a 59-49 lead to start the 3rd period as Tacoma could only connect on one basket in the first 7 minutes of the quarter shooting just 2 of 13 in that span. San Jose continued to gain momentum as they finished the period leading 85-59. And it wasn't over.

Tacoma fought very hard even though the Skyrockets kept building its lead throughout the 4th quarter. Lamar Castile's 3-point play with 9:35 left gave San Jose a 98-63 lead. They never looked back as the score continued to mount before finishing off the Navigators. It was really a sweet #20 for San Jose.

San Jose finished the game shooting 52% while Tacoma could only manage 32%. Castile had one of his best nights this year by scoring 30 points and grabbing 9 rebounds along with his 5 assists. He was 12-21 from the field with three-3 pointers. He wasn't the only story however. Rock Winston had 18, Anwar Ferguson 16, West All-Star Jason Smith 15 and Jamar Howard chipped in 10 points. Howard also led the Skyrockets with 12 rebounds. Jamaal Miller and All Star Tim Ellis had 17 points each for Tacoma. For more information, visit www.sjskyrockets.com or www.abalive.com.
