Sound face Florida Pitbulls
February 7, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Strong Island Sound News Release
Patchogue, N.Y.- The ABA has added a game to the schedule on Sunday February 26th at 5:30 p.m. The Strong Island Sound will travel down to Florida to face Tim Hardaway and the Florida Pitbulls. This will be the Sound's first game versus an opponent not from the Roger Brown or Connie Hawkins Division.
The Pitbulls are currently 18-7 in first place in the Barnes-Malone Division and ranked 7th in the ABA Power Rankings. The Sound are 11-14 in 4th place in the Roger Brown Division and ranked 16th. This will be a major test for the Sound to see where they stand against one of the better teams in the ABA. Strong Island has previously defeated the number 2 team, the Rochester Razorsharks, and lost two road games (one in overtime) by a total of 8 points to the number 6 team the Maryland Nighthawks.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
