Skyforce ready for Sun Kings
November 25, 2005 - Continental Basketball Association 1 (CBA 1)
Sioux Falls Skyforce News Release
Sioux Falls, SD - The Sioux Falls Skyforce (1-1, 6.0) takes on the Yakama Sun Kings (2-1, 13.0) tonight at 7:05 at the Sioux Falls Arena.
Game Info:
Good Start
Brandon Hunter is off to a great start this season as he is averaging 25.0 points and 13.0 rebounds in his first two CBA contests. He is currently 4th in the league in scoring average and 3rd in rebounding average. He is the only player in the CBA with a double-double in each game he has played in so far.
Familiar Face
Sioux Falls Skyforce fans should recognize a familiar face when the Sun Kings take the court tonight. Former âForce forward Leonard White is now a member of the Sun Kings
organization. White averaged 18.7 ppg and 9.8 rpg in 100 games (89 starts) with the Skyforce as he played from 2000-02, and again during the 2003-04 season. He is second on the Skyforce all-time records list with 976 career rebounds. Although he is the second oldest player in the CBA (34, Mark Strickland (35) with the Rockford Lightning is the oldest), he has had a great start this season as he is averaging 15.3 ppg and is tied for the league lead with 13.7 rpg.
League Parity
The league seems to be pretty even in the early going as no team in the CBA is undefeated and no team is winless. Every team in the CBA split their first two games of this season. Last season saw some longer winning and losing streaks to start out the season as the âForce started out 5-0 before losing their first game and on the flip side the Michigan Mayhem started out 0-5 before winning their first contest.
