Sioux Falls Skyforce News Release
Sioux Falls, SD - The Sioux Falls Skyforce (26-16, 168.5, 4.01) visits the Yakama Sun Kings (27-16, 171.5, 3.99) tonight at 9:05 pm CST at the Yakima Valley SunDome.
'Force Facts:
Game #43 / Road Game #22 / CBA Game #170
Magic Number
The Sioux Falls Skyforce only needs 2.5 quarter-points in tonight's game against the Yakama Sun Kings in order to clinch a playoff berth for the second straight season under head coach Dave Joerger. Dakota (17-25) is idle until tomorrow night and currently has 129.0 quarter-points. With only six games remaining, they can win a maximum of 42 quarter-points (win 7 QP each game) which would increase their season total to 171.0 quarter-points. Therefore, the âForce can clinch a berth with 2.5 quarter-points as they currently have 168.5.
Double-Doubles
Corey Williams has been playing extremely well the past few weeks as he has produced four double-doubles in his last five games. He posted the double-doubles against Dakota (15 points, 10 assists) on 2/16, Gary (23 points, 19 assists) on 2/22, Idaho (10 points, 10 assists) on 2/24, and Yakama (11 points, 13 assists) this past Saturday night. He did not post a double-double against Dakota on 2/17 because he was limited to six minutes of action with an injury. On the season he has nine double-doubles and one triple-double.
Coach of the Month?
Sioux Falls Skyforce head coach Dave Joerger is making a strong case for CBA Coach of the Month for the month of February as the âForce is 8-1 (45 quarter-points) and has averaged 5.00 quarter-points per game. Coach Joerger's biggest competition would be Gary Steelheads head coach Jaren Jackson, who guided the Steelheads to a record of 10-3 (64.5 quarter-points) for an average of 4.96 quarter-points per game. In his CBA coaching career, coach Joerger has been named Coach of the Month eight times (seven times with the Dakota Wizards and once with the Skyforce).
