Sioux Falls Skyforce News Release

FORT WAYNE, IN (December 30, 2013) -The strong inside play of Justin Hamilton and the deadly outside shooting of Henry Walker proved to be too much as the Sioux Falls Skyforce took down the Mad Ants 103-101 Monday evening in the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne.

The Skyforce took control of the game in the first half when they went on an 11-2 run to take a 25-15 lead with three minutes to go in the first quarter. They extended that lead in the second quarter to eighteen points with back-to-back three pointers from Walker and one from reserve John Allen. That lead went as high as twenty before the Mad Ants started to chip away at it. Fort Wayne got the lead down to ten on two free throws from Trey McKinney-Jones, but Sioux Falls was able to recover and went into the half with a thirteen-point lead.

The third quarter was all Mad Ants, as the home team outscored the Skyforce 25-12 in the quarter and tied the game at 77-77 going into the final period. The fourth quarter was a back and forth battle throughout, and the home team thought they had taken control when they took an 81-77 lead off of jump shots from Alfred Aboya and Kyle Randall, but Sioux Falls responded with a 8-0 run in large part to Walker, who again hit back to back threes to thrust the Skyforce back in the lead.

The Mad Ants would not relent, however, and they got right back in the game with a jumper and two free throws by Sadiel Rojas. The game continued to go back and forth, but Sioux Falls finally took control with two free throws by Hamilton with 11.9 seconds remaining in the game, and they took home the hard earned road victory.

For Sioux Falls, Hamilton had 31 points and Walker had 26. DeAndre Liggins also chipped in with 13 for the Skyforce.

Fort Wayne was led by Ron Howard's 23 points, and Indiana Pacers assignee Solomon Hill added 19 in his D-League debut.
