Sioux Falls Skyforce News Release
SIOUX FALLS, S.D., Dec. 19 - The Sioux Falls Skyforce battled back from a slow start to beat the Los Angeles D-Fenders 98-92 Friday night at the Sioux Falls Arena. Frank Williams scored 14 points in the fourth quarter to lead the comeback after Sioux Falls trailed by as many as 13 points midway through the third quarter.
Sioux Falls (8-2) trailed the entire first half until Gary Forbes hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to tie the game at 46 apiece at halftime. Sioux Falls came out cold in the third quarter and trailed 68-55 following a lay-up by Joe Crawford.
Sioux Falls played from behind almost the entire game thanks to poor free throw shooting. Sioux Falls was 4-of-11 from the charity stripe in the third quarter alone and shot a season-low 58% (23-of-40) for the game.
Frank Williams and Gary Forbes led the Skyforce with 22 and 20 points, respectively. Keith Braumbaugh chipped in with a season-high 10 points off the bench.
Joe Crawford recorded a team-high 22 points in defeat. Brandon Heath posted 15 points while newly acquired forward C.J. Giles added 13. Sioux Falls returns to action tomorrow night at home against the expansion Reno Bighorns at 7 p.m. CT. Los Angeles travels to Bismarck to take on the Dakota Wizards at 7 p.m. CT.
