Chicago Sky News Release
TONIGHT'S GAME HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE
* Chicago is now on a six-game winning streak, its longest win streak since 2013 (also six games).
* Sky picked up its sixth win in the inaugural WNBA Commissioner's Cup. Chicago is now 6-2 in Cup games with two remaining on its schedule.
* James Wade continued his pursuit of becoming the Sky's second-winningest coach of all-time, as he picked up his 40th victory as head coach. He is now just two wins from tying Steven Key for the second-most in franchise history (42).
* Chicago supplanted New York in the WNBA standings, moving into the critical fourth position. If the season ended today, the Sky would own a first-round bye in the WNBA Playoffs, an honor it has not had during the James Wade era.
* Candace Parker moved past WNBA Hall-of-Famer Tamika Catchings with her third defensive rebound of the night which put her career total to 2,400. She finished the game with nine defensive rebounds and is now at 2,406 in her career.
* Candace Parker and Courtney Vandersloot both recorded double-doubles tonight. The last time Chicago had two players with double-doubles in the same game was September 2, 2020 (Courtney Vandersloot & Cheyene Parker).
NEXT UP: The Sky (8-7) and Liberty (7-7) will play their third and final game of the regular season against each other on Thursday, June 24 at 6:00p CT from the Barclays Center. Chicago fans can follow the action on WCIU The U or stream the game via Twitter.
