Sky Hosts Military Veteran Career Fair

CHICAGO, August 29, 2013 -The Chicago Sky will host a Military Veteran Career Fair on Sky's "Military Night" to show support to active and retired military personnel.

Thirty Chicagoland companies from a variety of industries will be in attendance to provide job guidance for those looking to build their professional network.

"The Sky is an avid supporter of the military, hosting Military Nights in previous years to honor active and retired heroes," said Adam Fox, president and CEO of the Sky. "It is a thrill and an honor to expand this celebration to include the Military Veteran Career Fair.

We look forward to welcoming the military and the great companies lending their expertise for this event."

The Military Veteran Career Fair will take place preceding the Chicago Sky versus Indiana Fever game on Friday, September 6. The event runs from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. CT and will be held in the Skyline Room at the Allstate Arena.

Veterans and active duty military individuals who attend the fair will receive job guidance from several top companies in the greater Chicago area. Attendees will learn resume building and interviewing skills. They will also be given one-on-one guidance in interview preparation and meet with human resource professionals who can offer advice on job application processes.

The fair is of no cost to veterans or active duty military. Military are welcome to bring a plus one. Additional tickets are on sale for $10 each. The military in attendance will also receive tickets to the game which begins at 7:30 p.m. CT as well as a complimentary Sky military t-shirt.

Companies in attendance will include Bank of America, Allstate, ISAVE, Rivers Casino, The Private Bank, Coca-Cola, Sam's Club, U.S. Cellular, Walmart, Aramark, CDW, Robert Morris University and more.
