
Sky Carp Continue Strong Finish

PEORIA, Ill.- The Beloit Sky Carp might be eliminated from playoff race, but they are finishing the regular season in a strong fashion.
Friday night, the Sky Carp won for the third time in four games against Peoria, escaping with a 3-1 win over the Chiefs.
Cade Gibson made his final start of the season a strong one. Gibson allowed just three hits and one unearned run in six innings. He walked just two and struck out seven to move to 4-7 on the season.
Edgar Sanchez followed with a scoreless inning, while Cristian Charle pitched the final two frames without incident for his second save of the year.
Cam Barstad doubled home Jorge Caballero with the first run of the game in the top of the second. After the Chiefs tied the game in the third inning, Osiris Johnson singled in the go-ahead run in the fifth inning.
Beloit added an insurance run in the ninth inning on an RBI single by Torin Montgomery.
Beloit will continue its season-ending series with the Chiefs with a 6:35 game Saturday night.
The Beloit Sky Carp are the High-A Affiliate of the Miami Marlins and play their games at ABC Supply Stadium -- the heart of the Riverbend District.
