Beloit Sky Carp News Release
BELOIT - The Beloit Sky Carp dropped their third straight game to South Bend Thursday night, falling 5-3 at ABC Supply Stadium.
A boisterous crowd of 1,893, their spirits buoyed by the Thirsty Thursday promotion and an electric dance performance by bat boy Timmy, saw the Sky Carp put the potential winning run at the plate before their ninth inning rally fizzled.
Shortstop Jose Salas connected for his first home run as a Sky Carp in the first inning to tie the game at 1-1, but South Bend plated three runs in the top of the third inning to take command of the game.
Patrick Monteverde (2-2) took the loss after allowing four runs in six innings. Victor Mesa Jr., and Davis Bradshaw each connected for two hits along with Salas.
The Sky Carp will host South Bend to kick off the holiday weekend Friday night at 6:35 p.m. It promises to be one of the best nights of the season at the Stadium. It's Star Wars Night, with over 20 characters in attendance. The Sky Carp will be revealing their new mascot right before a fantastic fireworks show lights up the sky.
