YORK, Pennsylvania - Ex-Astro Jason Lane threw five innings of shutout ball in his first start of the season helping the Sugar Land Skeeters (22-28) match their longest winning streak of the season at four games while simultaneously extending their winning streak to six over the York Revolution (24-26) at Sovereign Bank Stadium Monday night.

Lane (1-0) moved quickly through the lineup his first time through retiring all nine batters he faced through the first three innings. Matt Chico (0-1) picked up his first loss of the season in his first outing since joining the Revs yesterday giving up five earned-runs off six hits in four innings worked.

The Skeeters blasted off with a five-run third inning to take an early 5-0 lead, which ended up being all the runs they would need. Ryde Rodriguez started the inning off with a bunt-like single down the third-base line. After a Dominic Ramos strikeout, Bubba Bell doubled deep to left-center field moving Rodriguez to third. Miguel Negron walked to load the bases for Josh Pressley, but he also walked bringing home the first run of the inning. In the very next at-bat, Ofilio Castro knocked a two-RBI double into right-center field scoring two to push the lead up to three, 3-0. Pressley came around on a wild-pitch adding to the lead, 4-0, and Matt Hagen mimicked Castro and Bell with a double of his own to add the fifth run of the inning.

The Revolution scored one run of an RBI-groundout from Ramon Castro to cut the deficit to four, 5-1, in the sixth, but Sugar Land got it back in the top of the eighth with an RBI-single from Iggy Suarez after Hagen doubled to lead off the inning.

In the bottom half of the same inning, York used a walk and a single to put runners in scoring position off reliever Eric Krebs. With only one out and two on, Liu Rodriguez placed a fastball into center just past an outstretched Krebs allowing Travis Scott to score from second. Castro again grounded out bringing Brandon Haveman home to cut the lead in half, 6-3.

However, the game reached its conclusionh when Gary Majewski made an appearance to close out the eighth and ninth. The Houston native picked up his sixth save of the season with a little help in the top of the ninth. Pressley grounded out to short with Bell on third after a leadoff double bringing the center fielder home to increase the lead back to four, 7-3.
