Blue Crabs Set to Welcome One Millionth Fan

WALDORF, Md. - A little under two months into their 5th Anniversary Season, the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs are set to welcome their one millionth fan through the gates at Regency Furniture Stadium during the upcoming home stand. In anticipation of this historic milestone, which is projected to happen on Tuesday, June 19, the Blue Crabs have put together a dream Blue Crabs prize pack for the lucky one millionth fan. The club is currently 2,029 fans shy of 1,000,000.

"One million fans is a historic landmark for our organization," said Blue Crabs General Manager Joel Seiden. Being able to welcome 1,000,000 fans during our 5th anniversary season speaks volumes about the whole Blue Crabs organization, as well as the Southern Maryland Community."

When the one millionth fan enters through the gates on Tuesday evening, they will receive the ultimate Blue Crabs prize pack in addition to all of the pomp and circumstance. That prize pack will include a Personalized Blue Crabs Jersey, Two Blue Crabs Season Tickets For Life, One Catered Luxury Suite Night to use on the September 23 Fan Appreciation Night, and the opportunity to throw out the Ceremonial First Pitch on September 23.

The Blue Crabs have already welcomed 87,432 fans through their gates in 2012 averaging about 3,497 fans per game in 25 openings. That is already a significant increase from last year, as the club welcomed 73,121 in 25 openings averaging 2,924 fans per game. That is an increase of 573 fans per game.

"This off season we really focused on pairing unique experiences and additional value with the price of admission," said Blue Crabs Assistant General Manager Brian Radle. It's feels great to see the fans responding, and it fuels us to provide more and more of it going forward. That also goes along with a strong determination to continuously introduce people to the experience of Blue Crabs Baseball!"
