
Skeeters Shut out Patriots 2-0

Bridgewater, NJ - The Sugar Land Skeeters (17-9) shut out the Somerset Patriots (15-9) 2-0 at TD Bank Ballpark on Wednesday in the afternoon game of the day-night doubleheader.
The Skeeters took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on a Cody Stanley RBI single.
Sugar Land added a run to the lead in the top of the fourth inning on an RBI base hit by Albert Cordero that made the score 2-0.
Somerset threatened in the bottom of the seventh inning, but were not able to plate any runs.
Lucas Irvine (1-1) picked up the win with two scoreless innings pitched. Liam O'Sullivan (1-2) suffered the loss, allowing two runs on five hits in six innings of work. Felipe Paulino earned his eighth save with a scoreless inning pitched.
The 2019 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue at home with a 6:35 pm game against the Sugar Land Skeeters on Thursday, May 23rd at TD Bank Ballpark.
