Sugar Land Space Cowboys News Release
SUGAR LAND, Texas - The Sugar Land Skeeters and The New 93Q host "Country at the Ballpark" on October 9 at Constellation Field. This exciting new country music event has an all-star lineup consisting some of the hottest acts from Nashville and Texas: Chris Young, Eli Young Band, and The Voice's Season 3 winner Cassadee Pope. Gates will open at 5 p.m. and the first act is tentatively scheduled for 6 p.m. The New 93Q (92.9 FM) will provide exclusive radio coverage for the event.
"Words can't describe how excited we all are here at The New 93Q to partner with The Skeeters to host the first ever Country at the Ballpark at Constellation Field", said The New 93Q Vice President and Market Manager Mark Krieschen. "Country is the hottest genre in all of music and it's about time we had a huge country show at one of the most beautiful entertainment venues in all of Houston."
Co-Headliner Chris Young has accomplished more in the world of country music by the age of 30 than most artists do in a lifetime. Already a Grammy-nominated recording artist, he's also a dynamic live performer consistently in demand, an international ambassador for country music, a talented singer/songwriter with six #1 songs to his name - by the way, he wrote four of them - and a handsome charmer to boot. With four albums under his belt, and a fifth coming this Fall, the man known for his classic baritone and melt-your-heart ballads knows how to have a good time, too.
Somewhere in the midst of 10,000 towns, along a lonely highway between packing clubs in their native Texas years ago and more recently packing stadiums on one of country music's hottest tours, the Eli Young Band became more than a band. They became a brotherhood. Camaraderie and creativity fused into an intoxicating cocktail that has propelled the talented foursome to the vanguard of contemporary country music. Co-Headlining with Chris Young, the Eli Young Band represents the best of Texas, and they are looking forward to coming home to Constellation Field on October 9th to perform in front of their loyal home state fans.
At just 25, Cassadee Pope's unique vocals and powerful performances stole the national spotlight during Season 3 of "The Voice." The star of the NBC hit primetime show wowed from the start with offers from all four judges during the blind auditions before accepting with Team Blake (Shelton). Excelling throughout the competition, Pope displayed diverse musical tastes and talents, covering such songs as "Stupid Boy" (Keith Urban) and "Cry" (Faith Hill). Her version of the Country hit "Over You" (Miranda Lambert) was one of her three Voice performances that catapulted to the #1 spot on the iTunes All-Genre Chart, further proving Pope's wide consumer appeal and vocal prowess.
"Chris Young, Eli Young Band, and Cassadee Pope represent the young and vibrant sound that's driving Country music to new heights today", said The New 93Q Operations Manager, Johnny Chiang. "They will rock Sugar Land"!
Tickets begin at $35 with VIP options available beginning Friday, August 7 at 10 AM. Tickets can be purchased online at SugarLandSkeeters.com, TheNew93Q.com, or at the Skeeters' Box Office.
