WALDORF, Md. - The Sugar Land Skeeters earned a split in the series with the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs following a thrilling, 4-3, come-from-behind victory on Monday evening at Regency Furniture Stadium in Waldorf. The win bolsters the Skeeters' record to 10-14 in the second half and 46-48 overall.

Starting pitcher Sean Gallagher pitched well for Sugar Land, but was again saddled with a no-decision after surrendering individual runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth. The right-hander went 6.0 innings, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks while striking out four.

Sugar Land took an early lead in the top of the first after a pair of singles from Jeff Dominguez and Amadeo Zazueta opened the inning. After a deep fly ball allowed Dominguez to move to third, the Skeeters completed the double-steal to break the scoring seal. When Zazueta drew the throw to second, Dominguez bolted toward the plate to stake the Skeeters to a 1-0 lead.

The Skeeters expanded the lead to 2-0 in the top of the third. Dominguez poked a one-out single into center and Zazueta followed with an infield single to second. Delwyn Young continued his hot streak, reaching on a single into center before Chris Wallace hustled down the line to avoid the double play, allowing Dominguez to score and increase the lead to 2-0.

Southern Maryland cut the deficit in half in the bottom of the fourth. Jake Opitz drew a walk to open the inning. Jovan Rosa singled into right field and a wild pitch allowed Opitz to advance up to third. After a strikeout, Keith Castillo singled deep in the hole to shortstop to give the Blue Crabs their first run of the night.

The Blue Crabs plated the equalizer in the home half of the fifth. Casey Stevenson tripled into the right field corner before coming in to score on a sacrifice fly from Zach Wilson to tie the game.

Jovan Rosa gave Southern Maryland its first lead of the game in the bottom of the sixth. The designated hitter blasted Gallagher's full-count offering over the wall for a home run, giving the Blue Crabs a 3-2 lead.

Sugar Land rallied to tie the game at three in the top of the eighth. Young opened the inning with a double to right. After back-to-back strikeouts, it would appear that the infielder would be stranded, but Johan Limonta made certain that would not happen with a single into center, plating Young and tying the game at three.

After exchanging zeroes in the ninth and tenth, Sugar Land reclaimed the lead in the top of the 11th on Dominguez's third-hit of the evening. Patrick Palmeiro drew a walk off Orlando Santos to open the inning and immediately advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt from Denny Almonte. Dominguez singled to center, allowing Palmeiro to score after Antone DeJesus misplayed the ball on the short-hop. Dominguez would advance up to third on the defensive miscue.

The bullpen of the Skeeters was phenomenal in the come-from-behind win. Ramon Delgado, Andrew Johnston, Derrick Loop, Adrian Martin and Robbie Weinhardt combined to throw five shutout frames, allowing just one hit. Martin earned the win with an inning of perfect relief while Weinhardt slammed the door for his second save of the season.
