
Six Unanswered Runs Sink Nuts in 6-2 Loss

San Bernardino, CA. - Two-out damage doomed the Modesto Nuts in a 6-2 loss against the Inland Empire 66ers on Saturday night at San Manuel Stadium.
Max White put the Nuts (21-28; 47-72) on the board first with a RBI triple in the third. That would be all 66ers' (18-31; 41-78) starter Justin Anderson (W, 7-10) allowed over a season-high seven innings.
In the fourth, David Fletcher whacked a two-out RBI double that also put two runners in scoring position. Hutton Moyer followed with a two-run single off Nuts' starter Helmis Rodriguez (L, 3-9). Rodriguez worked five innings and allowed three runs on seven hits with three walks and five strikeouts.
In the seventh, the 66ers added on. Jeff Boehm smacked a two-out, two-run triple. Michael Strentz smacked a RBI single.
Dom Nunez went 2-for-4 and added a solo home run in the ninth.
