Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen scored twice in each period en route to a 6-2 win over the Moose Jaw Warriors on Sunday at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
Carson Focht led the way with three assists while goals came from six different players. Mark Kastelic and Tye Carriere helped the Hitmen to a 2-1 lead after the opening period with James Malm and Kaden Elder building the advantage to 4-1 through 40 minutes. Riley Stotts and Cael Zimmerman then rounded out the scoring in the third period.
The Hitmen, 7-1-1-0 in their last nine games, outshot Moose Jaw 39-22 with goaltender Carl Stankowski making 20 saves to pick up the victory.
The Warriors, who dropped all four games in the season series, received markers from Keenan Taphorn and Josh Brook.
Calgary will now get set to kick off a stretch of three straight games against teams from their own division on Wednesday, Feb. 13 as they visit the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
It is then back to the "Dome to host Medicine Hat for the Lunar Celebration on Friday, Feb. 15. The 7:00 p.m. start will include more than 200 fortune cookie prizes, dragon dancers and a post-game fireworks show. It is also the start of a home and home with the Tigers with the rematch the following night on Saturday, Feb. 16 in the Gas City.
