
Six NHL prospects headed to Greenville

GREENVILLE, SC - The Greenville Grrrowl of the ECHL, proud affiliates of the Chicago Blackhawks and Edmonton Oilers, have announced that the Chicago Blackhawks have assigned four players to the Grrrowl from the Norfolk Admirals (AHL affiliate), and two ECHL contract players have also been released from the same training camp. All six players were released from the Norfolk Admirals training camp on Thursday morning, and should be in camp with Greenville on this weekend when camp opens.
The list of assigned players from the Chicago Blackhawks to the Greenville Grrrowl:
SCOTT BALAN (6-3, 205lbs., defense, Medicine Hat, Alberta) was a 4th round pick of the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2000 NHL entry draft. Played last season in Norfolk (AHL) and Florence (ECHL).
MIKE BRODEUR (6-2, 167lbs, goalie, Calgary, Alberta) was a 7th round pick of the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2003 NHL entry draft. Played last season with Moose jaw of the WHL.
ALEXANDER KOJEVNIKOV (6-3, 205lbs., forward, Mockba, Russia) was a 3rd round pick of the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2002 NHL entry draft. Played last season with Val d'Or and Quebec of the QMJHL.
VLADIMIR GUSEV (6-3, 205lbs., defense, Novosibirsk, Russia) was a 4th round pick of the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2001 NHL entry draft. Played last season in Norfolk (AHL) and Florence (ECHL).
Free agents previously signed by the Grrrowl, and released from Norfolk:
KRYS BARCH (6-2, 200lbs., forward, Guelph, ONT) was a 4th round pick of the Washington Capitals in the 1998 NHL entry draft.
JOEY MARTIN (6-3, 225lbs., defense, Buffalo, MN) was a 6th round pick of the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2000 NHL entry draft. Played the past four years at the University of Minnesota.
