Six Different Chiefs Players Score in Balanced 6-4 Bounce-Back Win Over Americans

Spokane, Wash. - It was an emotional night as the Spokane Chiefs honored host families with a pregame ceremony and special player thank you videos for all the time, effort, and dedication from our host billet families. Over 8,176 fans were on hand to see Spokane bounce back with a 6-4 win on Saturday night.

On the ice it was the Chiefs going on the penalty kill early in the first period for the second day in a row against the Americans. Jake Sloan continued his hot weekend with another goal on the power play at 6:38 of the first.

It was Chase Bertholet on the board for the Chiefs for the second consecutive day, assisted by Berkly Catton and Conner Roulette at the 11:18 mark.

Catton put the puck on net after collecting the cross-ice pass from Roulette, and Bertholet was on hand to clip home the rebound, tying the game at one goal apiece.

Just over a minute later it was the Chiefs' Swedish import continuing his red-hot streak, scoring a goal in his third straight game.

Cheveldayoff and Crampton added the assists on Ekström's goal giving him point(s) in eight straight games.

Chase Harrington scored just two minutes later with his third on the season and first since early December.

Harrington trailed the play and took the feed from Parr before finishing with a nasty backhand.

Sloan scored for a second time early in the second period for Tri-City with an assist from Whynott.

Halfway through the period Cam Parr added his name to the scoresheet for the third time this season.

The Chiefs' forecheck earned a turnover deep in the attacking zone before Hayden Paupanekis unselfishly found Parr who deked and finished a crisp backhand.

Gavin and Smith scored for Tri-City late in the period making it 4-4 at the end of two.

Spokane would finish strong thanks to goals from Streek and Roulette in third period.

Streek knocked home a rebound with assists going to defensemen Crampton and Mayes before Roulette finished off the game with a slick wraparound at the 6:43 mark.

Berkly Catton tallied his second assist of the night along with Will McIsaac. With his two points tonight, Catton is now tied for the third most points by a 17-year-old in Spokane Chiefs history.

Cowan played was staunch in net, making 29 saves in the game. Spokane led the shot count 38-33, went 0/2 on the power play, and 3/6 on the penalty kill.

Up next Spokane will hit the road playing a day game at Vancouver on Monday and Wenatchee on Tuesday. The Chiefs will return home to the arena for two huge games next weekend. Friday, February 23 is Shriners Children's Spokane School Night and Boomer Pillowcase giveaway for the first 1,000 kids 12 and under. Saturday, February 24th is Inland Imaging Chiefs Fight Cancer night. The Chiefs will be wearing specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off, benefitting Every Woman Can.
