
Sitko and Milam Return to Gwinnett

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that they have signed defenseman Jon Sitko as well as Jamie Milam for the 2007-08 season.
Sitko posted a goal and 4 assists for 5 points in 27 games with Gwinnett after being acquired by the Gladiators from the Toledo Storm on January 16th. Sitko collected six points in 33 games with Toledo before being traded to the Gladiators.
The Kitchener, Ontario native tallied 16 points while appearing in 128 career collegiate games at Bowling Green State University during his 4 year collegiate career. Sitko ranked third on the Falcons in PIM during his senior season with 57 and finished in the top three during his sophomore and junior campaigns.
Milam returns to the Gladiators where he posted 47 points in 68 games with the Gladiators during his rookie campaign. His 47 points shared first among all rookie defenseman last season in the ECHL.
The Lake Orion, Michigan native was named the ECHL's Rookie of the Month for February of last season as he posted 3 goals and 10 assists in 12 games for the Gladiators. Milam recorded a +6 plus-minus rating during the month and recorded four multiple point games for the Gladiators and tied a career high posting 3 points and was a +5 for the Gladiators in a 7-4 win at Florida on February 14th.
Milam notched 9 points in 8 games with the Fort Wayne Comets following his senior season at Northern Michigan University in 2005-06. In 157 career collegiate games at Northern Michigan, Milam posted 98 points.
Opening Day in the ECHL for the 20th Anniversary Season will be Oct. 18 when the Johnstown Chiefs host the Wheeling Nailers at Cambria County War Memorial in a rematch of Game 7 from the first-ever ECHL Finals.
Celebrating its 20th Anniversary as the Premier 'AA' Hockey League in 2007-08, the ECHL began in 1988-89 with five teams in three states and has grown to be a coast-to-coast league that will have 25 teams in 17 states and British Columbia in 2007-08. The 25 teams includes the Mississippi (Biloxi) Sea Wolves, who return after missing two seasons in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and the expansion Elmira (N.Y.) Jackals.
The ECHL will play 900 games beginning Oct. 18 and concluding Apr. 5. The conference and division alignments and the format for the 2008 Kelly Cup Playoffs will be determined and approved at a later date by the ECHL Board of Governors.
